ÑÇɫӰ¿â EPSCoR In a Time of Change program call for artists

, in collaboration with the ÑÇɫӰ¿â EPSCoR Interface of Change project, is accepting applications for a two-year artist residency focused on the Gulf of ÑÇɫӰ¿â region.

Selected artists will work with scientists and community partners to explore themes of coastal dynamics, maritime livelihoods, and social-ecological well-being. The residencies will culminate in a traveling exhibition showcasing new artwork that reflects changing conditions in coastal ÑÇɫӰ¿â.

Applications are due by Aug. 29, 2025.

Residency highlights include:

  • A three-day retreat at the Center for ÑÇɫӰ¿ân Coastal Studies’ Peterson Bay Field Station near Homer, June 19–21, 2026

  • Participation in traveling group exhibits between 2027 and 2029, with planned stops in Homer, Cordova, Haines, Juneau and Fairbanks

  • A $5,000 stipend ($2,500 per year), plus travel support

  • Opportunities for field or lab experiences, interdisciplinary mentorship, and collaborative project development
